Do Users Need to Re-KYC Every Time They Buy Crypto?
No — users don't verify their identity on every transaction. KYC is completed once per onramp, not once per purchase.
Same onramp: no repeat KYC
Once a user has passed KYC with a given onramp, they won't need to repeat it for future purchases through that same onramp. Onramper recognises returning users and recommends the onramp they've already used, so the flow stays frictionless.
A different onramp: one-time KYC with that provider
Each onramp is a separate, independently-regulated provider, and KYC records are held by the onramp — they aren't shared between providers. So if a user is routed to a different onramp, they'll need to complete that onramp's KYC once. After that, they're verified with that provider too.
How Onramper keeps re-verification to a minimum
Onramper's routing prioritises a returning user's existing onramp and, where appropriate, lower-KYC options — so users encounter identity checks as rarely as possible while still meeting each provider's compliance requirements.
A note on larger transactions
An onramp may occasionally request additional verification — for example, for higher-value purchases — as part of its own compliance process. This is provider-driven, not an Onramper setting.
Your users' data
Onramper is an aggregator: we don't collect or store your users' KYC information. Verification happens directly between the user and the onramp.
