Can I Cancel a Transaction or Get a Refund?
Whether a transaction can be cancelled or refunded depends on its stage and on the onramp that processed it. Onramper is an aggregator — we don't process payments or hold funds directly — so cancellations and refunds are handled by the onramp you used.
Cancelling a transaction
A transaction can only be cancelled while it's still processing and hasn't completed yet. Once it has completed, it can no longer be cancelled.
Refunds
Refund requests are handled by the onramp that processed your payment, and each onramp sets its own refund policy. The most common situations:
- Your payment didn't go through: failed card payments usually aren't charged, and any temporary authorization hold is released automatically by your bank.
- You paid but haven't received your crypto: contact the onramp with your transaction details so they can trace it and, where their policy allows, issue a refund.
Important: crypto transactions can't be reversed
Once crypto has been sent to a wallet address on the blockchain, the transaction cannot be reversed, cancelled, or recalled — by Onramper or by the onramp. Always double-check your wallet address and the selected network before confirming a purchase.
Sent to the wrong address or network?
If crypto is sent to an incorrect address, or on the wrong network for that address, it generally cannot be recovered. Please make sure the receiving address and network are correct before you confirm.
How to request a cancellation or refund
- Identify the onramp that processed your transaction (it's in your confirmation email).
- Contact that onramp's support with your transaction ID — see How to Get Help with Your Crypto Transactions for their contact details.
- Not sure which onramp handled it? Contact us at support@onramper.com and we'll help you identify and reach them.
